Pavils Glaudans (1915-1968)
Pavils Glaudans worked in oil and water color. He painted very lyrical and picturesque landscapes and seascapes. He was an excellent master of portraits, painted Latvian cultural peoples at the end of 1950 – L.Vigners, M. Kempe, A.Zilinskis and E. Smilgis.
In 1944 graduated Latvian Academy of Art Landscape studio under guidance of professor V.Purvitis with diploma work “The snow – break”.
Artist took part at exhibitions since 1943. Solo exhibition in Riga (1944).
Memorial exhibition in Kazan, Russia (1964), Kraslava (1970, 1985), Dagda (1986).
He was a member of LSSR Artists’ Union (1946-1950, restored in 1964).
Pavils Glaudans died on November 21, 1968 in Riga.
