Kurts Fridrihsons (1911-1991)
Kurts Fridrihsons worked with oil, in the late 1950s, focusing on water-color. Main artist topics - Latvian folklore, ancient legends and world culture. Works characterized by relatively, portrait and figurative imagery, subtle colors, lines elegance and virtuosity. From 1974 worked primarily Making of technique.
Intermittently studied at the Latvian University architecture department (1931-1938), also in which he visited the painting courses to Vilhelms Purvitis (finished the first three courses).
Member of Art Union since 1946 (1951 excluded, but in 1957 re-admitted).
Participated in the exhibitions since 1932.
Personal exibitions in Honolulu, USA (1939), Riga (1943, 1967, 1974, 1975, together with J. Spalvins, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1982, 1984, 1986, 1990).
Memorial Exhibition (1992).
He has participated in many group exhibitions of Latvian artists.
