Vase, Cherry blossoms. Tirschenreuth, Germany 1950. Fine hand-painted. Heinrich Eichhorn in 1832 asked permission to open a porcelain factory in Tirschenreuth in Tirschenreuth. Eichhorn was a manufacturer from Schnee near Lichtenfels. His request was rejected by the city of Tirschenreuth. Finally, after objections to the decision, permission was granted in 1833. The factory was completed in 1838. At first, Eichhorn had to subsidize the firm. In 1846 a second kiln was started up. Heinrich Eichhorn died in 1880 and his shares were acquired by Edmund Tittel, Friedrich Müther and August Bauscher. The following year, August Bauscher sold his shares to Karl Gotthold Mezger. In 1908 Gotthold Mezger died, his shares passed to Johann Schlippak. During the First World War, markets collapsed. In 1926, director Johannes Schlippak died. In 1927, porcelain manufacturer Lorenz Hutschenreuther acquired the Tirschenreuth porcelain factory.
