Karlis Silins (1958)
Painter
Kārlis Silins graduated from J. Rozentals School of Art in Riga (1977) and the Latvian Art Academy (diploma work “Against the wind”, under the guidance of I. Vecozols).
The artist worked as a teacher in the secondary school of Mersrags (1984-1986) and in the Riga School of Applied Arts.
He is a member of Latvian Artists’ Union since 1985.
K. Silins takes part in exhibitions since 1981. His works were exhibited at group shows in Sweden, Germany, France, Australia, Israel and Spain.
Solo exhibitions:
In Riga (1992, 1994, 1996, 1998);
In Paris (1992);
In Ventspils (1998, together with H. Silins).
Most of all Silins paints figurative compositions, still life and landscapes.
