Large serving dish. Germany, hand-painted. The last century. Bremer & Schmidt Porzellanfabrik Bremer & Schmidt began production in 1896. This initially small enterprise, shortly before the outbreak of World War I, developed into a factory employing up to 150 workers. It was owned by Dr. Schmidt and Mr. Knupfer in the 1930s. The factory managed to survive both world wars. In 1958, the German Democratic Republic placed it under state supervision. The factory was nationalized in 1973. Together with other factories of Eisenberg, she formed the company VEB Eisenberg Porcelain Special Combine. The factory was finally closed in 1976.
